Tulum is not where you go when you are looking for a luxury vacation. They really pride themselves on an "eco-chic" mentality. Everything, the people, the hotels, the food, the vibe, is really beautiful in a casual bohemian sort of way. By now you have probably heard the buzz about this small beach town but it still seems surprisingly remote and off the grid. It was the first time in a long time, without TV and phone service. The days are long and there is a ton to do...white sand beaches, cenote caves and Mayan ruins to explore and they have really mastered the art of relax. Most of the hotels are actually called "wellness centers." They offer oceanfront yoga, luxurious spa treatments and energy healing. I highly recommend this magical place and can't wait to go back next year!
